The 41st edition of the Défi Sportif AlterGo is on fire!

21 May 2024

What is the Défi Sportif AlterGo?

In 1984, Monique Lefebvre, Managing Director of AlterGo, decided to create an event to showcase the abilities and talents of people with functional limitations, with the aim of changing society’s perception of them. That’s how the Défi Sportif for athletes with disabilities, now known as the Défi Sportif AlterGo, came into being. In its first year, the event brought together 720 athletes, and this year more than 6,000 athletes from Quebec and around the world, with all types of disorders and disabilities, are taking part in the various competitions.

How did this year’s Défi Sportif AlterGo turn out?

The Centre Sportif Claude-Robillard welcomed the young athletes to promote adapted sports accessible to all, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The interactive Digi-Sports Wall gave young athletes the chance to challenge and outdo each other on games of reflexes and precision. A playful, fun and interactive event that’s both appropriate and educational.

10 days of competition

Which took place from April 26 to May 5, 2024.

9 sports

The young athletes surpassed their limits in athletics, baseball, boccia, functional circuit, rhythmic gymnastics, ball field hockey, mini-marathon, swimming and soccer.
